TIps & Tricks [Guide] - How to create a CD USB & Hiren's Boot

Hiren BootCD to boot from a USB flash drive or CD, you must first set your BIOS must be configured boot order priority on USB drives or CDs. Please note that some computers may not support booting from USB drives and the following steps only work for the version of Hiren's BootCD 9.7 or later.
  • Step 1: formating USB Flash Drive
Please note: All data on your USB flash drive will be lost. Before performing this step, do not forget to backup your files on a USB flash drive.
1. Connect the USB 512 MB or higher.
2. Download and [HIDE]run USB Disk Storage Format (34 KB)[/HIDE]. Follow the steps in the screenshot below:

  • Step 2: Install the USB Flash Drive to Grub4Dos
1. Download (187 KB) decompression.

2. Open the folder "grub4dos" unzipped. Run 'grubinst_gui.exe' inside grub4dos folder and follow the steps below:

Press Enter to complete.
  • Step 3: Copy the files to a USB Flash Drive
1. Unzip Hiren BootCD (9.7 or later) was downloaded. DOWNLOAD LINK HERE
2. Copy everything from uncompressed directory of Hiren BootCD on USB.
3. Next copy grldr and menu.lst (in the directory grub file downloaded in step 2) to the root of the USB drive.
4. Finally the contents of your USB will look like the following:
