MEDICAL DOCTOR/ MEDICAL STUDENT/ PARAMEDICAL STUDENTDescription
Malabsorption: A Clinical Approach is a clinically oriented video course designed to make the complex topic of malabsorption simple, structured, and easy to apply in real clinical practice.
The course begins with the basic physiology of digestion and intestinal absorption and then explains how abnormalities at different levels can lead to maldigestion and malabsorption. Emphasis is placed on understanding the underlying mechanism rather than simply memorizing lists of diseases.
You will learn how to approach patients presenting with chronic diarrhea, steatorrhea, weight loss, anemia, nutritional deficiencies, and other manifestations of malabsorption. The course covers important causes such as celiac disease, pancreatic insufficiency, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, intestinal mucosal disorders, lymphatic abnormalities, and short bowel syndrome.
A practical diagnostic approach is discussed, including relevant blood investigations, stool tests, endoscopy, biopsy, imaging, and selected specialized tests. You will also learn how to interpret common clinical patterns and develop a logical differential diagnosis.
Management principles, nutritional replacement, and disease-specific treatment strategies are discussed in a concise and practical manner.
This course is ideal forMBBS students, postgraduate residents, physicians, gastroenterology trainees, aspirants who want a clear understanding of malabsorption from both an examination and bedside perspective.
By the end of the course, you should be able to recognize malabsorption syndromes, identify their likely cause, choose appropriate investigations, and formulate a systematic clinical management plan.
